Located a stone's throw from the multi-million pound regeneration of Sheffield City Centre, Butcher Works is a unique redevelopment project including residential, commercial and retail space amongst a collection of red brick buildings

Of great architectural and historical significance Butcher Works was formally a cutlery and tool manufacturing works which contains over a dozen distinct buildings within the Cultural Industries Quarter of Sheffield.

L J Monks were appointed as the main M&E Contractor for this prestigious development who in turn commissioned Rickard Green Engineering to undertake the associated electrical design.

Via Rickard-Green Engineering, Kingfisher Lighting were invited to prepare an external lighting scheme and luminaire schedule for the entire development with the specific design objective of emphasising the impressive architectural features of the development and providing a warm ambiance throughout the
courtyard and pathways.

Façade lighting of the building and key architectural features were lit with the 'Cool glass technology' Inground 260 Architectural Buried Uplighter specified with a 42w Compact Fluorescent light source and a symmetrical beam distribution and the Mistral architect aluminium up and down wall lighter specified with 150w metal halide finished in polyester powder coat. Whilst the Ben Nevis flange mounted bollard finished black polyester powder coat specified with 42w compact fluorescent were used to light the courtyard.
