About Bats

With over 1,450 species around the world, bats make up 20% of all mammals. Vital to the health of our environment, bats protect food and forest from insects, help pollinate plants and flowers and spread seeds. However, Bats are under threat from widespread habitat destruction, climate change, invasive species as well as other stresses which have led populations to fall.

Our Work

At Kingfisher Lighting we work closely with the industry bodies to ensure the reduction of adverse effects on wildlife and their habitats caused by artificial lighting. Through our work with the ILP and the Bat Conservation Trust, we have been able to add valuable insights into guidance notes and educate lighting designers on best practices around the UK through our accredited CPD.

Our Products and How They Can Reduce the Impact on Wildlife

With renewable energies, recyclable materials and sustainable packaging we can help our customers reduce the carbon footprint on each project. This, alongside bespoke reflector technology, low colour temperatures and single spectrum LEDs we are able to design systems that reduce the impact of essential artificial lighting on localised wildlife and their habitats.
