From humble beginnings, this luminaire range has grown to become one of the most versatile products within our range. Designed and Engineered within the UK, the Viva-City range can now be found throughout the nation in many projects.

At the heart of every manufacturing facility, product development is a fundamental aspect to guaranteeing business success. Kingfisher hold product development at its core and our research and development process is an in-depth experience as the team work diligently to produce a high-quality market leading product.

The Beginning

We go back to 2015 when the original Viva-City launched. At the time, this luminaire was advanced with an instant projection of white light, excellent colour rendering and improved light cut off. This Viva-city had a durable construction and was designed to ‘blend’ into the sky during daytime hours.

With the introduction of the new Viva-City Pro luminaire, the original Viva-City saw its end in 2017. The Kingfisher Product Team saw opportunity for improvement with the luminaire and wanted to create a slimline luminaire with improved maintenance factors.

The Viva-City Pro

The Viva-City Pro was the perfect progression from the original Viva-City. With the newer sleek luminaire, the team was able to reduce windage and weight compared to the previous fixture. We also covered the lens which prevented dirt getting trapped within the luminaire improving not only maintenance but overall performance.

The luminaire when first launched had two optics available in comparison to its predecessor. However, we now have five optics available for the product, see below -

• Asymmetric Forward Throw Optic 70°
• Street Optic – Wide 70°
• Asymmetric Spill Shield Forward Throw Optic 70°
• Asymmetric Spill Shield Street Optic – Wide 70°
• Asymmetric Flood Optic – 50°

This luminaire is available in a variety of colour temperature options ensuring the perfect on-site illumination.

The Viva-City Flood

The latest luminaire to join the Viva-City family is the Viva-City Flood. This fitting sits perfectly alongside the Viva-City Pro allowing not only maximised illumination for any project but a harmonious aesthetic across schemes.

The flood has three optic variants matching the Pro variant.

• Asymmetric Forward Throw Optic 70°
• Street Optic – Wide 70°
• Asymmetric Flood Optic – 50

The powerful flood was created for area lighting, security lighting, sports and high mast as well as for use in retail spaces.

Accreditations

However, the benefits of this powerful series don’t end there! A hot topic in the lighting industry, the International Dark Skies Association are working endlessly to reduce the amount of light pollution across the world.

They recommend and approve products which are especially designed to reduce the amount of light pollution with a 0% ULOR. Thanks to their innovative systems and sleek design, the Viva-City Series is one of our IDA approved product ranges.
