Following the huge successes for both teams throughout the women’s football World Cup, England lost out to the Spanish team who became 2023 champions in yesterday’s final.

As the competition came to an end, we witnessed the triumph of the Spanish team as they defeated Lionesses 1-0 at Stadium Australia. It was the first time either team reached the final, and both showed fantastic efforts and performance.

We’d like to say congratulations to Spain for their first Women’s World Cup win. And, of course we want to send our appreciation to our very own team, their hard work and dedication throughout this competition has created a huge sense of pride nationwide and are an inspiration to girls and women wanting to pursue their football dreams.  

Over the next year, women’s football will continue to rise in popularity, with more opportunities, dedicated training centres and equality throughout this great sports. Kingfisher Sport champion created equal game and training spaces for all wanting to take up any sport, with solutions perfect for grass roots pitches all the way up to stadium lighting.
