A Night at the SAPCA Awards 2026

News

Kingfisher Lighting was proud to attend the SAPCA Awards 2026, held at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, bringing together leading organisations from across the sports and play construction sector.

Kingfisher Lighting attending the SAPCA Awards 2026 at Allianz Stadium

Earlier this month, we were delighted to announce that our Business Development Manager for Sport, Patrick Daly, had been shortlisted as a finalist for SAPCA Person of the Year. You can read more about Patrick’s nomination in our previous article here. The awards evening celebrated the achievements of individuals, projects and products that continue to raise standards across the industry.

With more than 30 entries submitted across six competitive categories, the level of innovation and technical excellence on display was clear. While we did not take home the award this year, being recognised as a finalist reflects the strength of expertise within our specialist sports lighting team and our ongoing commitment to supporting high-quality sports infrastructure across the UK.

Beyond project delivery, our sports team continues to support the sector through technical guidance, lighting design expertise and educational initiatives. Recent activity has included partnering with England Hockey for industry webinars focused on planning approval and compliant LED sports lighting design, as well as delivering performance-led floodlighting schemes for clubs and contractors nationwide. You can explore some of our recent sports lighting case studies and technical insights via our dedicated Sport page.

The event was also a fantastic opportunity to connect with contractors, consultants and fellow SAPCA members, all united by a shared goal: delivering facilities that enhance participation, performance and community engagement.

We extend our congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists.

Supporting the Sports Sector Beyond Projects

Over the past 12 months, Patrick has worked closely with sports clubs, consultants and contractors to deliver compliant, performance-driven LED sports lighting schemes for football, rugby and hockey facilities nationwide.

Alongside live project delivery, this has included:

  • Delivering technical guidance and planning support through industry webinars in partnership with England Hockey, including our recent session on Sports Lighting and Best Practise.
  • Providing lighting design support aligned with governing body standards and performance requirements.
  • Contributing to sports-focused case studies demonstrating compliant lux levels, uniformity and optical control.
  • Supporting retrofit upgrades to LED floodlighting to improve energy efficiency and reduce long-term maintenance.

Patrick has also played a key role in strengthening Kingfisher Lighting’s official facility partnerships with England Hockey and England Athletics, supporting clubs and facilities with compliant, future-ready lighting solutions.

We will also host an upcoming webinar focused on sports lighting design and planning considerations.

This broader industry engagement reflects Kingfisher Lighting’s commitment not only to delivering high-quality projects but also to supporting knowledge-sharing and best practice across the sports lighting sector.
