Standalone Controls

Standalone systems are designed for simple, individual luminaire operation with no central control network required. Each unit is programmed with a single function at installation, such as part night dimming, motion or presence detection, or motion sensors with override. Controls are specific to each luminaire and cannot be linked or reconfigured once installed.

Part Night Dimming
Multi-stage night-time power reduction via an internal timer referenced to the power ON/OFF time. Operates without external control infrastructure, automatically following a predefined dimming profile based on midpoint reference.

Motion Sensors
Adjustable parameters include:

  • Presence Level – output level when triggered

  • Fade-in Time – ramp-up duration after trigger

  • Run-on Time – hold time after no detection

  • Fade-out Time – ramp-down duration after run-on period
Sensors available in PIR or Microwave, function identical.

Motion Sensors with Override
Operates within the ZHAGA-D4i ecosystem as a standalone or integrated device. Supports photocell or communication node for enhanced control. Pluggable sensor with Zhaga Book 18 interface for straightforward upgrades.

Essential Controls

A real-time lighting control system operated through a phone or tablet application. Functions include on/off switching, dimming, and RGB colour change. The system supports both individual luminaire control and grouping for scenes, offering flexibility in managing lighting layouts. While highly responsive, this system operates only in real time and cannot be pre-programmed to run independently.

Installation Options

  • Installed using Zhaga Book 18 connections for standardised compatibility.

  • Requires connection from a D4i driver.

  • Supplied via DALI-2 protocol for reliable communication.

Key Features

  • Control luminaires through scenes or individually.

  • Configure daylight sensors for energy savings.

  • Manual controls via app or optional push buttons.

  • Add site plans to the app for easy navigation and management.

  • Circadian rhythm controls for optimised light cycles.

  • Timers for automated on/off operation.

  • Works alongside presence sensors for responsive lighting.

  • RGB and dim-to-warm control available.

  • Group management and scene creation for tailored lighting environments.

Group Controls

Group controls link multiple luminaires for coordinated operation, offering both pre-programmed schedules and real-time adjustments. They are ideal for complex lighting scenes, time-based events, and extended range control via mesh networking.

Key Features

  • Group fittings together for synchronised control

  • Create complex lighting scenes

  • Increased range via mesh system

  • Time-based events and scheduling

  • Internal or external mounted nodes

  • DALI & 0–10V control options

  • Emergency testing and reporting

  • Sensor integration and linking

  • Physical controls (static or mobile, mains or battery powered)

  • Programmable part night lighting and sunrise/sunset actions

  • Individual daily schedules

  • Web-based control and reporting via collator (wired or 4G)

  • Secure web portal with PC/tablet access

  • Reports on energy usage, DALI driver status, heat maps, and more

  • Automated failure notifications to maintenance teams

  • Financial data integration for cost tracking

Please Note: Installation is more complex, requiring careful pre-planning and higher investment for advanced functions.

Kingfisher Sport Lighting

DMX Controls

DMX is a protocol commonly used for entertainment lighting, enabling precise control over RGB and white light sources. It’s ideal for large stadiums, events, and façade lighting, and can also be used on a smaller scale for architectural effects.

Key Features

  • Controls RGB and white light sources

  • Supports up to 10 programmable lighting scenes via NicolauDi DMX controller

  • Scenes selected by push-button control when wired correctly

  • Programs can be stored on SD card memory

  • DMX signals sent via XLR ports to addressed fittings

  • Boosters used for cable runs over 300m

  • Splitters used when more than 256 fittings are required

  • Loop-in/loop-out wiring in series

  • Adaptors available for AMNIS driver to convert to DMX

  • Unique address programmed for each adaptor

  • Supports light shows for sports grounds

  • Wireless DMX senders/receivers available where cabling is not feasible (line-of-sight required)

  • One receiver per mast can control multiple fittings

  • Pre-programmed lighting shows available from factory

  • Custom sequences possible via commissioning engineer

Please Note: Complex sequencing requires third-party programming. Detailed planning is essential to meet project requirements.
