After a year-long fundraising drive, Newark Tennis Club has officially opened with new LED flood lights provided by Kingfisher Sport. This project involved a complete renovation to the site's pre-existing lighting system ensuring the courts could be manually switched for all year-around play.
About the Club
Established in 1887, Newark Tennis Club is in the heart of the rural town. With multiple packages available for all types of players, they also offer opportunities for coaching, cardio tennis and opportunities for social tennis of course.
The Project
Close to residential properties, Newark Tennis Club hosts 4 floodlit courts and 2 grass courts with opportunities to expand and increase. With this in mind, the Kingfisher Sport experts had to find a solution that would not only reduce obtrusive light to the surrounding residencies but also provide expansion opportunities.
The Solution
After assessing the existing system, the team opted for a complete upgrade, including new masts, floodlights, and bracketry to meet LTA specifications.
The final solution included 24 AMNIS Match floodlights, mounted on 8m masts strategically placed around the site to provide powerful, uniform illumination while maintaining high levels of visual comfort. The innovative reflector system ensures precise light control, minimizing spill onto surrounding areas and reducing glare for both players and nearby residents.
With this state-of-the-art lighting system, Newark Tennis Club now offers an enhanced playing experience, allowing members to enjoy top-quality, well-lit courts throughout the year.
