Higgs Estate

Designed to promote a high quality of living, Higgs Estate is a vibrant mixed-use development based in Zone 2, Central London. Situated a 3-minute walk away from Loughborough Junction, this project brings 134 new homes to the area as well as 45,000 sq. m² of commercial space. 

Featuring a mews street style, a new square and strategic landscape design, Higgs Estate now benefits from a vibrant and welcoming neighbourhood setting that will help both residents and businesses thrive.

 

The Project

Our Project Engineer worked closely with the architect to ensure we could fully encapsulate the vision for the space. The result provided elegant catenary lighting to public spaces and pathways alongside a modern twist on typical street lighting. Due to the site’s location, we meticulously created a lighting design that provided the exact lighting requirements whilst avoiding light pollution and trespass to the nearby railway, roadways and surrounding areas.

 

The Solution

We selected the NAVAR Series for its versatility. With over 280 configurations as standard, this luminaire range was the perfect solution to provide high performance and efficiency whilst assuring a harmonious aesthetic throughout the site.

 

Throughout walkways between buildings, the NAVAR Pro was suspended on catenary wire and bespoke bracketry to ensure excellent uniformity throughout the site. Mounted at 5m, these flat to ground fixtures were positioned so minimal light pollution was produced for the surrounding areas.

 

NAVAR Pro Cantilever luminaires were placed in several areas of the site where catenary wouldn’t suffice. The design team utilised AY70 and FW70 optics to promote the best illumination possible for the area.

 

Overall, the Kingfisher Lighting Team provided;

• A modern lighting system that perfectly aligned with the architect’s initial vision.
• Consistent uniformity throughout the site to ensure maximum visibility.
• Maximum performance with minimal light pollution as a result.
