Founded in November 1879, Montrose Football Club helps bring together the local Montrose community through the love of football. Otherwise known as ‘The Gable Endies’, the club has many teams under its belt including senior mens, womens, an academy team and an under 18’s team.
Based at the Links Park Stadium since 1887, the club have recently achieved Silver Quality in alignment with the Scottish FA requirements, with the help of Kingfisher Sport.
The club required an upgrade to their previous lamped technology which achieved 350 lux. With an aim to save costs as well as achieve Silver Standard, the club desperately needed to make the move to LED.
With many surrounding properties, the site also needed to adhere to the ILP 2021 Guidance Notes on Obtrusive Lighting (GN01). Therefore, the best solution was a flat-to-ground flood light with 0% ULOR.
The AMNIS Series was the perfect solution for the site due to its innovative reflector technology system. 32 fixtures were placed around the pitch on pre-existing masts and required bespoke bracketry to mount the luminaires, saving the club money on hardware and installation costs.
The high-performance flood allows an excellent light projection which achieves 500 lux, perfectly suiting the Scottish FA’s Silver Standard.
The AMNIS Series comes in a marine grade finish as standard therefore if extreme weather conditions were to occur, it’s protective coating would ensure the luminaires remain in excellent condition for the duration of the 100,000 hour recommended lifetime.
Overall, Montrose Football Club received a state-of-the-art lighting system to help them progress further and achieve silver standard. The surrounding properties also remain undisturbed due to the advanced technology system of the AMNIS.
