Illuminating Holme Valley Mountain Rescue HQ
Our recent donation of flood lighting is helping to shed light on Holme Valley MRT head quarters, keeping their vital services moving through the dark nights.
Part of Mountain Rescue England and Wales, the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team operate throughout the Pennines helping those in time of crisis in hard to reach places. Made up from a team of dedicated volunteers the HVMR Team operate 24/7 365 days in all weather conditions to assist local emergency services with mountain rescues and missing person cases all over Yorkshire.
Receiving no government or official funding the registered charity rely solely on donations and fundraising efforts. Along with events in their local area, the team invites people to become ‘friends’ of the organisation with a yearly subscription; where supporters are invited to open days, receive branded merch plus much more, all in a bid to raise much needed funds to keep this vital service going. Their latest fundraising event gets the whole family involved with a series of bike rides designed for all abilities. Join the Rescue Ride on 17th July 2021, as they set off from the HQ and embark on a number of rides around the Pennines.
Their head quarters in Marsden, West Yorkshire has seen all manner of action over the years and the volunteers do everything from working the rescues to maintaining the fleet and building. We are extremely proud we are able to support the HVMRT with the donation of flood lighting for the exterior of their base camp. Our Aludra 60W floods will help illuminate the exterior of the building, ensuring the safety of the team as they are preparing their equipment ready for action.
