Success for Nottingham's Light Night 2020
Nottingham’s annual light night was a momentous success, illuminating the city centre with inspiring installations and fascinating events.
Every year, Nottingham host an annual Light Night to illuminate the city with a variety of installations, artwork and activities. This year marked the thirteenth anniversary and they aimed for it to be their best yet, with over 100 activities to participate in spread across two days.
People travelled from all over the country to witness Nottingham come alive with an illuminating carnival parade, lighting showcases and other exciting events such as Skate of Nature, Late Night Light Night at Sneinton Market, A Postcard to the Future, Kiddo Dis-Glow, Plankton etc.
One of the events included an innovative augmented reality trail with creations from Jason Wilsher-Mills which were located around the city. Visitors could then bring them to life using the brand new NLN2020 app.
In partnership with ‘It's in Nottingham’, the city was showered with parades, light sculptures, performances, large-scale projected installations on the Council House (from the artists MBD) and plenty more.
The event is supported by public donations from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Nottingham City Council and Nottingham BID.
